So many network marketers think the key to MLM success is hard work and dedication. They’re wrong….dead wrong.

I didn’t say that it doesn’t take a lot of  work to grow and maintain a profitable network marketing business.

I’m just saying  it doesn’t take hard work.  Those of us who have a  proven system understands this.

I want to make sure I’m clear before I move on.

So while I have your attention I want to reveal the dirtiest secret in MLM.


Don’t Market Products or Opportunities – Market Information

This process is known as educational marketing and it’s the perfect solution to those of you who are using “harassment” marketing techniques. People join people and not opportunities so make it a point to position yourself as a leader by proving you know what you’re doing. There’s no better way to prove this than to educate your prospects on how to run a successful network marketing business. Make sense, right?

The key to attraction is teaching your prospects how to build a business well before they actually join you and your business. The last thing you want to do is tell them what you’re doing and how you’re creating an unstoppable and profitable organization. Show the way how to make thousands and thousands of dollars per month and let them draw their own conclusion.

As a matter of fact, you want to teach them regardless if they join your business or not. You want to give value to the entire community so that we can learn from each other and take this wonderful industry to levels it’s never been before.

When somebody is looking for an opportunity they’re looking for a solution, not a home based business or a product to promote. The opportunity is just the vehicle used for their solution. Once the decision has been made the biggest obstacle most face is wondering if they’re going to be successful in being an entrepreneur.

By giving them rock solid and fluff free business advice, you’re showing them how to be successful.

You are giving them a true solution and not a short-term fluke. You’re demonstrating that there is lots and lots of money to be made in network marketing contrary to what people say.

If you lead with this business-building education and information first, your eliminating all the worries, fear and doubts of them joining a business where they have to spend a lot of time, money and effort without the certainty if it’s going to work or not.

Why are people afraid to commit? Because they don’t want to be screwed. The lack of knowledge is the number one factor to create fear. By educating them you will eliminate all of their fears and you will also build a solid and trusting relationship. It’s much easier to sell yourself when you are providing advice and facts that are genuinely useful to them.

This entire technique is known as indirect selling. Your giving them everything they need to know such as good sales and marketing strategies, how to position yourself as a leader, how to properly talk to prospects on the phone, how to sort the suspects from the pre-qualified prospects, how to handle objections, etc. This just happens to be what you do and what you provide through your opportunity….what a coincidence!

I’ll say it again, people join people and not opportunities. If they don’t believe you, they don’t join you. This secret is known by all of the leaders and top marketers. They don’t market products or services, they market knowledge! If you follow this practice you’ll erase the believability factor and earn their trust making YOUR opportunity the next logical step.

But the most important thing that I can’t stress enough is this – The information you give MUST be useful and offers value all by itself. It cannot be a shameless pitch masked as as educational content. Yes, at some point you have to let them know what your opportunity has to offer but wait until they approach you or feel it’s the right time to let them know (some people are afraid to ask and you’ll know it when this happens). Until then, quality information has to be the main focus, not your sales pitch.

Remember, sell yourself and invest in yourself because you are your biggest asset. Now I hope you understand why having the best opportunity, products, and compensation plan is completely irrelevant to network marketing success!
